Metropolitan Vissarion hospitalized again

On August 5, 2025, Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch was hospitalized once again, reports Pershyi Kozatskyi. Surgery is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on August 6 at the Shalimov Institute. Doctors have assessed his condition as extremely serious.
The faithful of the Ovruch and Korosten Eparchy of the UOC are closely following the health of Metropolitan Vissarion with great concern.
According to diocesan sources, the bishop was able to serve morning prayers at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Korosten, after which his condition rapidly deteriorated, necessitating immediate hospitalization.
Clergy and laity of the eparchy have organized round-the-clock prayers for the health of Metropolitan Vissarion. Prayer services for his recovery are being held in churches throughout the region.
This is not the first time the hierarch has sought medical care in recent months, which has caused deep concern among the faithful.
As previously reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Vissarion had earlier undergone heart surgery at the Shalimov Institute in Kyiv, after which he returned to liturgical service.
