The scandal-ridden Chernivtsi "bishop" of the OCU, Feognost Bodoryak, who is believed to have been involved in the violent seizure of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the UOC, has published an appeal to the Romanian-speaking parishes of the UOC in Bukovyna, in connection with the DESS statement regarding UOC-ROC ties.
According to Bodoriak, the government document allegedly serves as "official and final confirmation" that the UOC is part of the ROC. He emphasized that this has now been "unquestionably proven."
He then builds a logical chain, asserting that, due to the revealed "connection", millions of Ukrainians are directly under Putin’s influence. He stresses that this is "obvious".
Bodoriak also claims he "cannot remain silent" while the UOC "hinders the process of spiritual unity". He assured that the OCU is "standing guard over the truth" and urged all residents of Bukovyna to join its ranks. He made a special appeal to the Romanian-speaking parishes of the UOC, reminding them that Dumenko (Epifaniy) specifically created the so-called "Romanian vicariate" to integrate such communities, and stressed that this is where they should transfer.
“I call you to unity in Christ and to a responsible choice — in favor of autocephaly and truth,” Bodoriak declared. At the end of his address, he referred to the Gospel and to Christ.
“This path is not about politics, but about truth, dignity, and faithfulness to the Gospel,” Bodoriak emphasized, and advised not to hesitate in making the choice.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that during the seizure of the cathedral in Chernivtsi, OCU militants used the altar as a toilet.
