Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna on her X criticized Zelensky for the persecution of the UOC and stated that she sees grounds for stopping American military aid to Ukraine.

"Zelensky BANNED THE ORTHODOX CHURCH. I CAN PROMISE YOU THERE WILL BE NO WEAPONS FUNDING FOR YOU. NEGOTIATE FOR PEACE. WE ARE NOT YOUR PIGGY BANK,"  Luna wrote in all caps, tagging Zelensky's official account.

At the same time, Luna criticized commentators who insisted that in Ukraine they are persecuting the "Russian Church", and therefore it is normal: "My God. Ukrainian bots are very upset about this. 'It was okay because it was the Russian Orthodox Church.' Suddenly these war advocates became experts in religion and also telepaths, as they are SURE that no Christian went to these churches to pray to God. Imagine if we did this in the States. Hypocrites."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the head of US National Intelligence criticized the Ukrainian authorities for talking about religious freedom while closing churches.
