On May 26, 2025, for the celebration of City Day, the Muslim community of Kremenchuk presented the project "Days of Islamic Culture". Leaders and representatives of cultural and educational institutions were invited to participate in the project, which takes place in the city mosque. This was reported by the Kremenchutska Gazeta.
According to the head of the project, Imam Asad, Ukrainians must realize "that Islam is part of society".
The organizers of the project plan to conduct tours of the city mosque and introduce attendees to Islamic culture, teaching them the main Muslim rituals.
Imam Yunus Fazilov from Kyiv arrived for the ceremonial opening of the event. He emphasized the status of the large-scale all-Ukrainian project "Days of Islamic Culture". According to Fazilov, it is held with active support from the authorities. The Imam stated that the dates for the project were not chosen by chance: they are timed to the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity, which is now celebrated annually on May 21 according to a new decree by the President of Ukraine. Fazilov noted that the project aims to popularize Islamic culture as an integral part of Ukraine's multinational society.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Kremenchuk, the OCU seized the Holy Assumption Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
