On May 27, 2025, on the third anniversary of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the Divine Liturgy at the Panteleimon Convent (Feofania), reports the UOC nformation and Education Department.
The solemn service was held on the occasion of the anniversary of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Feofania, which took place on May 27, 2022, and became an important event in the life of the Church. In the Panteleimon Cathedral of the monastery, the Primate was concelebrated by many hierarchs of the UOC and numerous clergy.
During the service, special prayers were offered to the Lord for peace in the Ukrainian land and deliverance from the enemy, that the Lord may protect the Ukrainian people and preserve those who are in despair and have lost their homes, and bless people of goodwill who help those in need.
After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Onuphry delivered an address on the occasion of the third anniversary of the UOC Council in Feofania. In his speech, the Primate noted that after the Council, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church possesses all the attributes of full canonical independence. The archpastor expressed hope that the entire family of autocephalous Local Churches will support the Ukrainian Church, approve its canonical independence, and recognize it appropriately. His Beatitude called on the faithful to pray fervently for the Church, for the Ukrainian state, its people, and its soldiers.
In conclusion, the Primate recalled that today marks the anniversary of two fateful events in the life of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church: the Council of 1992 in Kharkiv and the Council of 2022 in Feofania.
As reported, His Beatitude Onuphry published an address dedicated to the anniversary of the Council in Feofania.
