78 students of Kyiv Theological Academy receive Bachelor's degrees

On May 14, 2025, the feast day of Mid-Pentecost and the commemoration of the Holy Martyr Makarios, Metropolitan of Kyiv, a Divine Liturgy and a ceremonial graduation for extramural students of the Kyiv Theological Seminary took place at the Academic Church of St. John of Damascus, located on the grounds of the Holy Protection Monastery in Holosiiv.
The Liturgy was led by Archbishops Ambrosiy of Zhuriv, Vice-Rector for Educational Work. He was assisted by Archimandrite Afanasiy (Streltsov), head of the extramural department, as well as representatives of the administration, KDAiS lecturers and graduates who are ordained clergy.
The service was attended by teachers, students, alumni, pilgrims, and parishioners of the church. The liturgical hymns were performed by the choir of students from the Kyiv Theological Schools under the direction of Hieromonk Ioasaph (Mironov).
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, support for all those who have suffered from the war, and the remembrance of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and all deceased Orthodox Christians.
After the Liturgy, the solemn graduation ceremony for the fourth-year part-time students took place. Archbishop Ambrosiy addressed the graduates with a pastoral word, conveying congratulations and instructions on behalf of the KDA Rector, Archbishop Sylvester of Bilihorodka. Archimandrite Afanasiy thanked the graduates for their years of study at the theological school.
On behalf of the graduates, class head, Priest Dmitriy Yurkovsky, expressed gratitude to the administration and faculty of the Kyiv Theological Schools.
The event concluded with the awarding of diplomas: in 2025, 78 students received bachelor's degrees from the Kyiv Theological Seminary.
As previously reported by the UOJ, a tour was organized for students from Kyiv universities at the KDA.
