On April 30, 2025, around 4-5 a.m., "priests" of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) seized St. Peter and Paul's Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the town of Brovary, report community representatives to the UOJ.

The OCU members cut the locks on the doors with a grinder and hung their own. It is evident that the seizure took place with the knowledge of the police. Currently, law enforcers are in the church grounds, not allowing UOC believers in. The St. Peter and Paul community of the UOC is left without a temple.

As reported, that about a month ago, clerics of the Dumenko structure led by Oleksandr  Liman already attempted to break the locks and seize the shrine, but this attempt took place during the day, and parishioners prevented the bandits.

The rector of the church, Oleksandr Levchuk, then informed the believers that on March 13, 2025, there was an illegal re-registration of the church from the UOC to the OCU. After that, representatives of the authorities demanded that the rector hand over the keys to the church.
