On the eve of the celebration of the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, the “Miriane” public union appealed to the Kyiv authorities with a request to assist in the preparation and conduct of the Cross Procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, scheduled for July 27.

According to the organization's tg-channel, the appeal addressed to the mayor of the capital, Vitaly Klitschko, was submitted by Alexander Lunin, the head of the “Miriane” division in Kyiv, on July 15.

“On July 27, hundreds of thousands of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from all over Ukraine will gather in Kyiv on St. Vladimir Hill for a solemn service and cross procession on the occasion of the Day of the Baptism of Rus and the memory of the Holy Noble Prince Vladimir. The service is slated for 13:00, but people will start gathering on the venue from the morning. The lay people of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church appeal to you with a request to ensure, on the one hand, a comfortable stay for guests in the capital of Ukraine, and on the other hand, cleanliness and order on the city streets,” the appeal says.

Thus, the "Miriane" asked the Kyiv authorities for the following:

1. To ensure law enforcement during the events on July 27;
2. To organize medical support during the events (ambulance crews on duty on St. Vladimir Hill and along the route from St. Vladimir Hill to Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra);
3. To ensure the intensified work of city utilities;
4. To install additional garbage cans on St. Vladimir Hill and along the route of the column to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra;
5. To install dry closets;
6. To provide mobile drinking water points if possible.

We will remind, earlier the UOC told the details of the celebration of the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.
