Yevgeny Murayev: OCU turns out redundant after elections

Everyone got what they deserved, and to accomplish the requital, it remains to find out how much state money was spent on the creation of the OCU. Ukrainian politician Yevgeny Murayev wrote about this on his Facebook page.

He noted that in the past three months that passed after the presidential election, not a single UOC temple has passed to the OCU; in addition, the court rejected the appeal of the Ministry of Culture on the forced renaming of the canonical Church.

“The Tomos and the associated ‘historical’ ambivalence have completely disappeared from the discussion; even its author and initiator, a poor-looking representative of an absolute minority of voters, does not speak about this. Thus, "our own church" was not needed by anyone, including those who recently ripped their embroidered shirts for the OCU. In turn, the canonical Church only strengthened and re-affirmed its authority, which once again confirms the biblical truth: give Caesar’s to Caesar and God’s to God, and give everyone according to their deserts. And in order to accomplish the requital, it remains only to find out how much state funds were spent on this project and other scams,” the politician wrote in his message.

Earlier, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, explained the difference between the UOC and the OCU to a believer.
